Grantham Canal Basin is a long term aspiration to rejuvenate the west of the town centre by bringing back the former canal basin to create a lively waterside residential, leisure and retail opportunity.
The site is located immediately to the west of the town centre and extends along the route of the former canal for approximately 1.5 km joining the existing part of the Grantham Canal that travels impeded towards Nottingham.
The site is identified in the draft Grantham Area Action plan as one that has significant opportunity for regeneration.
The site is currently in multiple private and public ownership and is occupied by residential, ware housing, light industrial and public open space.
